Retirement from professional tennis: LONDON, United Kingdom Reuters (Reuters) – Kim Clijsters, a four-time Grand Slam singles winner, has announced her comeback to the pro circuit.

Clijsters, 38, said on Tuesday that she would “never longer play official tournaments” after completing her second retirement in 2019 after a seven-year break.

“I’m looking forward to seeing new adventures waiting for me,” the former No. 1 said on Instagram.

Retirement from professional tennis: Clijsters won her maiden US Open championship in 2005, but left the tournament two years later to married at the age of 23. She is a past member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

After taking around two years off to raise a child, the Belgian great won the US Open in 2009. After winning the Flushing Meadows title in 2010 and the Australian Open the following year, she recovered the top spot.

Clijsters abandoned the circuit

Brian Lynch, who has three children, and Clijsters abandoned the circuit for the second time in 2012. They reside in the New Jersey suburbs.

“I’ve been thinking about it for a long time,” Clijsters told WTA reporters. “I still like to hit the ball. On my schedule, 3-4 days was enough to control the rhythm, but not enough if I wanted to compete in another tournament. I am in Australia. If you choose, it will be 3-4 weeks. It is infeasible at this point in our family life. “Life is a kind of takeover, isn’t it?”

Her last official match was in October, when she lost to Katerina Sr. Kova in three sets in the first round of the tournament at Indian Wells, California. OKBET Sportsbook allows you to bet legally online.
